HOW TO LISTEN TO THE WORLD

"How to Listen to the World" contained articles about DXing written by hobbyists and radio personalities. It appears to have been published since approximately 1950. The list below describes the various editions that have been confirmed to exist. As can be seen, the numbering sequence has been erratic.

Beginning with the 1976 edition of the World Radio TV Handbook, "How to Listen to the World" became the "Listen to the World" section of the WRTH. It ran through and including the 1983 edition, except for 1979 when it did not appear. Thereafter receiver reviews and some articles continued to appear in the WRTH, but the "Listen to the World" title was dropped.

In 1978, another publication, "World DX Guide," was issued. While it was "arranged and compiled" by Jim Vastenhoud of Radio Netherlands, it was edited by Jens Frost, who had edited HTL beginning with the 1969-70 edition, and it was published by Billboard, who had published HTL beginning with the 1971 edition. In some respects the World DX Guide was a continuation of HTL, and so it is included in the table below. No subsequent editions of the World DX Guide are known to have been published.

Please let us know if you have, or know of, other editions of HTL so that we can add them to this list.
