What gear did you use when you first started listening?

Jerry Berg - My first receiver, circa 1958, was a Knight-Kit "Ocean Hopper" regenerative, from which I graduated to a Heathkit AR-3 with QF-1 Q-multiplier, and then a Knight-Kit R100 with a crystal calibrator. In the early 1970s I used a Heathkit SB-310 before moving to a used Hammarlund HQ-180A. "I still remember listening to ELWA on that 'Ocean Hopper.' It was early digital--the tuning dial was marked in 0-100 digits."
